HOMEMADE KAHLUA
Ingredients
4 C. Water
4 C. granulated Sugar
4 oz freeze dried Coffee (Tasters Choice)
1 C. Water
1 Qt. Vodka
additional Water
Vanilla Bean
Comments
Note: You may want to adjust the ratio of sugar to coffee or add some vanilla extract after you have had some experience.
Directions
Mix water and sugar in a sauce pan.
Bring to a boil and reduce heat. Maintain a slow boil, uncovered, for 20 minutes.
Note: The mixture will become syrupy while the sugar water is boiling.
Mix Coffee with boiling water in a separate container.
Allow both mixtures to cool somewhat, then mix together in a 1/2 gallon container.
Add Vodka and mix well.
Bring volume to 1/2 gallon with water.
Split a vanilla bean lengthwise then place the bean in the bottle and cap tightly.
Let the mixture 'age' for a month or more.
